Who we are
HomeSource Real Estate and Construction, Inc. is owned and operated by Tim Alexander. Tim has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate, development, and construction business.
Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Tim came to Western North Carolina 35 years ago to attend Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. After earning his business degree, Tim began work with a major resort developer headquartered in Asheville. Considering his love of the Western North Carolina Mountains, this was a natural fit. After twelve years of working in the resort and construction industry, Tim decided to start his own residential building company.
What We Do
HomeSource is a fully insured and licensed general contractor, specializing in residential and light commercial construction in Asheville, NC and surrounding areas. Our philosophy is to provide a “hands on” approach with our clients, maintaining an extremely close relationship with a competitive price. Typically we build 8–10 custom homes and complete 50 or more home remodeling projects each year.
As a fully licensed and insured Asheville general contractor, we are active members of many respected associations, including the Asheville Board of Realtors, the Home Builders Association of Asheville, Western North Carolina Green Building Council, Asheville Chamber of Commerce and American Institute of Architecture – Asheville Section, and NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry).

HomeSource Real Estate and Construction is a fully licensed and insured general contractor and residential builder providing quality built homes in the $250,000 to $1,000,000 range in the Asheville and Western North Carolina region. Typically, we will build within a one-hour drive of the downtown Asheville area. Our projects include a range from small cottages to 5,000-square-foot custom homes.
We offer our clients turnkey service.
When we say we offer turnkey service, we really mean it! If you’re already working with an architect or designer, we are happy to execute your construction from an existing plan. However, if starting from scratch, you can count on HomeSource to coordinate design and drafting services through one of their many highly qualified architect or design partners for a truly satisfying experience. We can help you take a plan from initial concept to final design. We’ll be happy to set up a complimentary visit with one of our architect or design partners so you can meet them, review their portfolio, learn about their background, and determine if they are a right fit for your project.
