Dramatic Kitchen Remodel
In this beautiful kitchen remodel, we removed the peninsula and extended the countertop material up the wall to serve as a full-height backsplash. With these changes, the space opened up and now has the dramatic, chic look our clients wanted!
WE STARTED WITH A LAYOUT ADJUSTMENT
When these clients purchased their condo in North Asheville, the existing kitchen was very traditional and not to their taste. A peninsula jutted into the middle of the room, which broke up the space visually and added little to its functionality. They wanted to open the space and change the styling to more transitional and chic to suit their tastes better.
Fortunately, the clients worked closely with HomeSource Design Center kitchen and bath designer Christy Dunlap. Together, they devised a few creative solutions to open the space and give the room a better flow. We removed the peninsula and extended the countertop on the sink wall. We also continued the quartz countertop material up the wall for a full-height quartz backsplash. Now their kitchen has the dramatic, chic look they wanted!
This kitchen perfectly shows how much a minor layout tweak can change a room. Removing the peninsula turned it from cramped and dark to bright, open, and chic. Sometimes, a small change can make a huge difference.
Christy especially loved this project's countertop/backsplash combo and said, "the full-height quartz backsplash extends the visual appeal of the countertops to give the space that dramatic, chic look our clients wanted."
We couldn't agree more- the quartz is stunning in this space! The countertop & backsplash combo are Cambria's Annica with an eased edge.
