This client came to us with an exciting goal: build an ecologically minded and sustainable home on a wooded, sloped lot. And... the house would be round! Read on to see how our talented team solved these unique challenges- we're so proud to have been a part of this stunning home.

Sustainable from the start

We knew from the start that this home would be a little different! This client had already decided on a Deltec home and were passionate about sustainability. If you need to get more familiar with Deltec, they're a local company that creates eco-friendly panelized homes. They provide the prefabricated structural shell, which accounts for about one-third of the completed home. However, everything else must be completed onsite by a local builder. We've had experience with Deltec homes and been a part of the green building community before it was cool.

Construction Coordinator Heidi Tauriainen worked closely with the client and assisted her with the design and material selections to turn this house into a home. It wasn't a standard layout— she had to design everything to fit in a roundhouse. This meant planning the cabinets, floors, ceilings and decks to work in an a circular configuration!

Thankfully, Heidi was up for the challenge. She truly enjoyed the entire project, and says:

The result is stunning- a modern, eco-friendly home filled with light. Warm, natural wood tones flow through the space, creating a sense of peace and calm. The house blends beautifully with its wooded surroundings, and the decks allow for harmonious indoor/outdoor living. This happy homeowner said:
